Students interested in exploring the literary arts scene on campus, the publishing process, and their own creative potential may register for either the “Get Published! Aspiring Authors,” the “Modern Poetry: Write to Live,” or the “Visual Arts: Finding Yourself as an Artist” CHIPs. Students in these three CHIPs will work to brainstorm, create, and critique their own and each others’ creative projects, ultimately producing a piece of original creative work. While students in the three GET PUBLISHED! Project CHIPs will receive extra opportunities for creative mentorship and hands-on engagement in the publishing process, all freshmen are encouraged to contribute!
Students will submit their finished masterpieces to Ephemera to be considered for publication in the Fall Freshmen Edition, the first-ever issue to exclusively feature freshmen work. Each student will receive feedback on their submission(s) from Ephemera’s editorial staff, and every student will engage in the publishing process. By the end of fall term, all GET PUBLISHED! students will have seen their name in print and be prepared to share their creative vision throughout their years in the CHC.
