Alex Fus Get Published! Aspiring Authors
Professor Frances Cogan Fridays 1:00-1:50 p.m. CRN 13257
Love to read? Love to write? If you believe the adage that “the pen is mightier than the sword,” then come sharpen your pen(cil) and your skills in the Aspiring Authors CHIP! You will have the opportunity to meet fellow first-year CHC students with similar interests to brainstorm, peer edit, and ultimately publish a piece of your own original writing in a collection of CHIP student work to be published in collaboration with the Modern Poetry CHIP.
This CHIP will feature guest speakers to discuss writing opportunities on campus and in Eugene, as well as author readings, workshops, and a field trip to Powell’s Books in Portland! We’ll also have a chance to address issues of social justice and diversity by volunteering with local literacy organizations (optional), and will introduce each other to other social and academic resources available here on campus and in the community.
This CHIP will be collaborating with Ephemera on the GET PUBLISHED! Project.
